this is me lucking out after several hours of £40/£80. i bought in for £3200 originally and played 3 handed. the table filled up and i was soon in for £24000. (i also played £10/£20 and $25/$50 for a little while and sucked out with a flush draw vs set for £3500-£4k). everyone went except for me and jenn and i quickly doubled up when i rivered a flush to her 2 pair for £26k. jenn dominated me then for awhile and i was down to £15k when, after 2 re-raises preflop and a call we got it all in on a flop of 9xx 2 spades, my A9 v jenns A10s. my hand held and i had £30,6k to jenns £3600. from there i kept building thru hitting every flop. i got to about £54k before jenn pulled it back and we were even for awhile. the hand that gave jenn a small lead was when i called an overpair with just 1 card needed for a straight on the board for £4k on the turn and then £8.5k on the river. that was a £32k pot. the biggest pot was the final one for £51,5k. i also won £32k, £19k, £18k, £30k, £12k, £26k pots when hu (all the pots above £10k that i won) and a £21k pot against kirderf earlier on when we were 5/6 handed. jenn won £32k, £12k, £16k, £15k, £19k pots (all pots over £10k that she won hu).

finished +£40,300 for day

bankroll £69,200.

Good work Ed, like everyone says , withdraw some of the winnings and you are fast on your way to being a property tycoon, lol. You earned more in one day yesterday than everyone I know does in a year. Buy a few houses a year and rent them out , you will be one of the wealthiest 30 year olds ten years from now.

good luck

Why bother withdrawing?

When you go busto you will only deposit your savings again.

You have a major problem man, you will be busto again soon, I say take your 100 and quit.

That said, best of luck, good to see the blog back up.

Mr X - update yer blog =p

Ed - instead of withdrawing to savings, give it to your mum and tell her to keep hold of it.

Maybe make an arrangement i.e. give her £20k, invest £10k that you cannot touch. Then she can give you £1k a month of the £10k left, for 10 months.

can risking what must be half his bankroll on the 33% chance (roughly) that he fills his flush be described as "Good work"?

I'm not directing this at Ed - he's beyond help and will without a doubt bust his roll again sooner or later.. savings are useless.. he'll keep spending them until there are no more funds because his problems are deeper rooted than just his fishy chasing poker game..

I think you should learn to play PLO. I'd love to watch you play the big games in that, and plenty of gambling for an action junkie like you.

Ed, why not take the money you have now and buy a flat with it? Take every penny you have and buy a flat outright. Get some tennants in and rent it out. Assuming around 5% per annum return you'd get monthly rental of around £450-500 on a £120,000 property. By locking money away in this manner you can't touch it. To get at that £120k you'd need to turf tennants out, put the property on the market, sell it, etc.

This provides for your future and also gives you a monthly income to fall back on when times are tough. Then start again. You've proven time and time again you can turn a few hundred into loads and you know you'll get a few hundred every month no matter what.

This way you're future is provided for and you can still do what you love best and gamble it up. With a house in the bag I'd then say you can tell people like me to stick it and go as wild as you like :)

Listen to Kenny, his plan is a winner. Property is the way to go, there is no doubt there .

The hand is well played and it's not a 33% chance to win, it is 50/50 on the flop, remember he could also win with a higher two pair and not just by making the flush.

Hi...first time poster and a big fan of your blog. This suited ace hand brought me out of the bushes for a question / comment. What is your thought process once your opponent raised it up 2K or so?

If you feel you have a skill edge over your opponent, why commit your chips in marginal at best spots like this? Best case you are about even money here, opponent has demonstrated commitment to hand so there is probably little to no fold equity on flop. But there might be if a face card hits turn, or your opponent might make a mistake and slow down. Of course, if you are up against a frequent bluff aggressor like...uh...yourself, no problem...get it in there. Good luck.

When I try something like that, obviously at a lower level!!, the river would have been the ace of diamonds and I blow out!!

Nice one Ed, awesome work.

To those questioning it, I think the A6cc v A5 is a pretty standard allin pot on the flop. There is not much in it mathematically at all, and I'm sure bluescouse wasn't going to fold a monster hand like that :-)

solid work,

i have you linked to my blog. Would be great if you could do the same.
Did you withdraw any cash, or is it all bankrolled?

yeah, i have been withdrawing 25% of each day's profits into savings. i am seriously considering buying a house (although awhile to go yet), but it would be to live in and not rent out.still, it's something i won't be able to lose (unless i get a mortgage and can't make payments).

mr. x, nice to see you are still around. i really enjoyed reading ur blog, any plans to restart again? let me know if you do, i'll link you up again.

i don't think the £50k pot was good play by me at all, but i am a fish and i ain't folding a flush draw. when jen raised it to £2240 i thought she may still fold to a re-raise, but when she re-raised again i just hoped i hit my club (as i didn't expect my 6 to be live).

not sure about plo dom- pretty big swings there isn't it?. i watch a bit of £25/£50 so next time there is a big fish there (i'll have to get clarification from an omaha player that he is a massive fish) i will probably play.

Hey man.

fantastic news for the blogging world that you have made your return. I honestly believe your writing and rollercoaster journey has encouraged a tonne of young players to document their own voyage into this crazy, emotional world of poker.

I'm loving all these folk who have just read your whole blog and just now want to comment on your playing style/ bankroll management. hilarious. I can't see a change coming, although the withdrawal of winnings is a definate step in the right direction. I hope you manage to keep the withdrawals permanent and i honestly wish you all the best.

I created my own blog in your absence and put your "closed" blog top of my links. Even though it seemed you were gone it was still a must read. If you get a minute to check my blog out please do and "if you like it - link it" (TM). I cannot promise an "action movie blockbuster" blog such as yours, i simply do not have the stomach for it. I do, however, hope to create an enjoyable read.

Good luck, stay strong and keep us informed
