ANOTHER £10,000 TO BLOEFFER

this time $50/$100 hu betfair. i bought for a fraction under $5k and got up to $34k before losing it all and then $15k more. as soon as i start losing my play starts to deterioate quickly and i become desperate to pick up pots and regain my peak chips for that session. my opponent also tightens up alot (generally) which i don't think helps.

anyway £20k left. i have half of it now and the other half coming tomorrow. it's probably time i re-considered what i'm going to do because i (as u) can't see the money lasting long. with £20k i still have a sufficient base to play £10/£20 half buyins, ring games with good game selection. from there i could be safe i think but... i'm not sure if i want to go back to that. i'll try and come up with some sort of plan before i play tonight or tomorrow.

on a side note i played the 'bloggerment' last sunday (without success, congrats to amatay for winning). it's a $5 sng on stars each sunday at 9pm uk time if anyone's interested, the password is donkament.

OK Ed, you have yet to express your interest in owning a very tiny percentage of my Vegas bankroll. See my blog - it's the least you can do after I donked off my chips to you in the Bloggerment.

Ed,

It's none of my business but you have the choice of 'safe' or 'broke'.

If you don't go back to $20 games you'll end up going back to 20 cent games. Remember them? You soon will...

Go down a couple of levels, spend three or fours days reading poker books, learn from them then work your stack up, patiently, carefully, a few dollars at a time.

Good luck,

Jack Dashed

Ed, Hope you are good... 10/20 sounds like a plan. Hope you can build up this infamous roll again so we can all keep enjoying the stories. I want you to put my blog http://binnerpoker.blogspot.com/ on your links list and hope you enjoy reading it. Sometimes I feel alot like you but for smaller stakes, just had my worst result yet so know exactly what you are thinking and how you are feeling. Only brightside was that i managed to nick $500 off Bloeffer in a 5/10NL HU game on betfair the other day :-) I will add your blog now to mine...keep playinga nd keep blogging. Good luck sir.

mate you had made like £30k - that buys you a fukin porsche boxter!!! isn't that enough profit for the day - take the 30K and play again the next day - when i make 1.5 buy-ins i usually stop for the session - if not for the day!

I think stopping when you reach a certain profit is a bad idea. If you have an edge and you are winning surely you want to play as long as possible.

Ed, it sounds like your last loss had little to do with cards, strategy or skill, and everything to do with psychology. Seeing this "peak chips" figure as a target that you can not leave the game until you hit it again is a really bad way to think. Just play your A-game and the chips will (hopefully) follow.

I saw a few hundred of the hands between you and Bloeffer the session before the last one. You were killing him, he couldn't deal with your aggression. The problem, I think, was you didn't respect him the few times he pushed back at you. He was just waiting for the big hands to take your chips.

Anyway, I'm the last person who should be giving poker lessons, so I'll shut up now. Good luck!

ED

I think what you have done is quality to get to where you have and the amount of money you have made. But you need to look at your game selection.

1) You made all your money on crypto and you have lost all your money on betfair. Go back to Crypto
2) You have made all your money in Ring games and you have lost all your money heads up. Go back to the Ring games

Bloeffer plays 10/20 and 25/50 is it not worrying he jumps at the chance to play you 100/200 and i would imagine he would play you at 250/500.You had 9 people waiting to play u!!!!

Good luck mate go back to what you are good at and its not heads up and notbetfair

Have you ever thought about playing the high stakes turbo SNG's on Full Tilt?

If you employed some of your aggression in the right way, you would terrify them I reckon.

Ed ,
i have been reading your blog for a while but never posted any comments cuz i didnt have anything new to say.
but i have always wondered is this:
what makes you think you are good at poker at all?
i mean going by the hand history and comments you make you really are bad at this and i mean really really bad.
i think you are not even good enough to beat 1/2 never mind any higher.
and im not talking the bankroll managment side of poker ,im just talking the technical side.
if you had a mil i have no doubt you would lose it eventually even in 1/2 simply cuz you have no edge dude what so ever.
i mean best poker players in the world have gone broke ,thoes who actually had an edge but didnt consider BR managment and eventually variance killed them but you are different.
your EV IMO is a nagative value simply cuz you are no good dude.
i mean any one playing the game as long as you have would actually picj up somehting by now but day in day out you are still the same and have not learned much at all.
why dont you at least try and learn the game at least try and have an edge in the game .
every one here tell you BR BR BR BR managment but to be honest they are all wrong.
they think you are losing cuz the lack of your BR managment but that is not the case at all.
you are losing cuz you are bad at this simple as that.
if you had 10 mil you would still lose.
i dont mean to be harsh but its the truth and i think you know is as well and im sure every one who reads your blog knows it too.

There's still time to save $20k
http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/

What a sad joke that you think playing $10-$20 NL with $20k is the "safe" route. Players who crush $10-$20 (which you are obviusly not good enough to do) would have a 50-75% chance of going busto at thsat level.

Like I've said more than once, you're probably not good enough to beat any game above $5-$10, and if you were, you'd still go bust because you steam & tilt.

I'm trying to actually think about your feelings here, Ed. Think about EXACTLY how you will feel on the INEVITABLE and soon to happen day you lose this 20k. You'll feel pretty bad about yourself. What will help you on that day is if you buy something for your family, yourself, anybody you care about with some small part of the money. Then you can say to yourself "at least I got my mom/dad that comy chair they wanted". Have something, ANYTHING, to show for that money and you'll feel a tiny bit better about yourself when you lose the lot. And sadly, you will lose the lot.

ok - you won't listen to anything else - that's kewl - it's your money - but please please please fukin please CHANGE YOUR SCREEN NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everyone knows who you are - that's why you have like 10 people queuing to play you HU - you're on massive tilt at the moment and have been since your night against the sweeds when they took you for $88k - if you changed your name your super agro strategy would be sick - at the mo people just know that all they need to do is call you very light...

please please do this one thing for me - remember all big players love the live ones - why don't you go back to being an unknown?
