ONLY £197,600 DOWN ON BETFAIR
at last a long needed winning session. the hu match i mentioned in the previous post concluded with me winning £36,600 over 2/3 hours (i ran very good and i picked the spots to bluff much better, except for one where i misread him for AK, when he really had AA, when i pushed with 7 high, no draw at all on a J high flop for a $22k pot).
a situation occured during our game and i wasn't completely sure what to do. i won about £31.7k from bloeffer when he said 'gg' and left. then 'bolikk' came on (from the waiting list) and i felt my hu was done but i hadn't taken 'autopost blinds' off and so i raised my sb took his bb and said 'no hu with u' or something like that in the chatbox. then i left. then i felt bad for taking his $200 bb, as it was not really his fault i had left autopost on. so i went back on and offered to give it back to him. i said u raise my blind and i will fold regardless. so i sat back in and he let the clock run down and wrote 'it's me bloeffer'. he passed his sb and i sat out (with $300 of his money to return now). i told him that i didn't believe him and if it really was bloeffer then i'd play him under the name bloeffer tomorrow. plus he had said gg as bloeffer suggesting he was done for the night. then he explained that after he left he had changed his mind and was going to have a go on his friends account (bolikk), since he had no more money in the bloeffer account. he asked if there was anyway he could prove and suggested if he logged on to bloeffer and deposited a few $ then said it was him, would i play him then. and he also made the point that he had never hit and run me, which is very true, but i did not feel like this was hit and run since i wasn't convinced it was him. but since i didn't want to be branded a 'hit and run-er' i agreed that if he went on as bloeffer and said he was bolikk i would play bolikk. so he left the table, deposited $25 on bloeffer account and then went on to a low table and told me he was bolikk. so i apologised to him (on bolikk username) for the mix up on $100/$200, gave him back his $300 and then we carried on with $100/$200. he only used $10k on the bolikk username before stopping and i logged off betfair then.
as it was i won the extra $10k by staying and playing him and i was convinced in the end that it was bloeffer (largely due to his style of play on the bolikk account). but i don't know if i dealt with the situation correctly. i wanted to bank a win badly as it had been awhile but i didn't want to hit and run him.
anyway i now have £54,600 in betfair and the 2 crypto tourneys on friday and sunday which i will be putting my best performances into. i hope this is the turning point now because i'm ready for another upswing =).

Explain why you had to give back the the $300? You raised, he folds and you win. Why give it back? You really are something else, Ed!
Yes m8! Get in there. watched alot of the HU Ed. Pure aggro as per. Spk soon.
Ed, I've seen you post hands in the past that suggest you may not be a long term winning player and, lets be honest, your bankroll management is hardly first class.
All this is semi-forgivable if you've got the stones to just plain confuse your opponents and out-aggress them.
However, to attempt to give $300 on principle is much more worrying. To win at poker you must be ruthless all of the time. I'd skin $1000 from my granny in poker if I got half a chance.
Food for thought.
Nice one Ed! A good win and a true gent for not wanting to hit-and run. Good to see some people know there is supposed to be a code of honour amongst poker players.
Nice work Ed, time for another upswing for sure...I hope you run good over the next week or two then we could be seeing the magical £250k for the house etc. All i can say is pick your games buddy dont get carried away with just wanting to play....be wise and pick the best games for your style. GL sir
Hi Ed,
Nice one. I have kept the faith and knew you would come good! Was speaking to UKGatsby last night and he said you were just sitting down to play. When you get up like that get out and it will be up to the 200k mark in no time
CCC
Congrats....you don't have enough money to be worrying about codes of honor. You are trying to take any edge you can get that does not involve cheating. You do not and hould not keep playing just because someone else wants to and you want to give them a shot back at their money. You should only play short sessions and leave when you are up no matter what....tilt is never that far behind
Good on you for returning the 300. Not many people would but i think it's very honourable of you. Karma for me is massive in poker and you earnt yours right there.... and another 10k ;)
Stick to the plan dude. Just cos you won that session don't mean that you have more money to waste in the next 1!
wtf who cares about 3BBs?
The 2bb you won fairly. Maybe he desevered the 1bb back.
But seriously. a few bb's. lol.
Well done btw and you should quit when you feel like it. You can always come back and play them another day. GL gogogo.
Got my figures wrong, I meant 1 bb u won fairly, maybe he deservered the 0.5 bb back. ...no point being so petty imo.
Well durrr, let me explain something for all you kids at the back:
giving that $300 was a sweet metagame-stylee manoeuvre...
The guy was quitting, he'd had enough. If he was any good then he'd be even more likely to stop if a bit tilted by losing some blinds carelessly.
But!
Ed knows that I knew he thought I knew this, don't you know? So anyways giving back the blind was basically a savage blow to the ego - 'this guy's so confident he doesn't even care to keep my free money!'
Well after this bold statement of Ed's: 'I just don't give a monkey's', the dude simply had to come back to try to restore his own mojo, which turned out very nicely for Mr Blue in the end now didn't it?
Besides which, who cares about a measily little $300 when tens of thousand are at stake?
Jump1n Jehosaphat
the guy wasn't quitting. Ed was. His oppo wanted to play. This wasn't meta-game imo. This is just Ed being nice. (and he really doesn't need to be, people will play him anyway)

Are we playing tonight again supa? If you want to play, what time is ok for you?
Bloeffer
Bloeffer is currently eating Lois Lane alive on the 100/200 Ed.
He currently has 90k on the table. So if you bump into him later he may have a bit more cash behind.
Just thought I'd share that.
He's currently multi tabling on Betfair with Bloeffer on the 50/100
The time is 11.40pm BST
Don't tilt ffs!
I'm watching him taking Bloeffer up the arse right now

Go on my son
You have to give credit to Bloeffer for handling that big loss like a true sport and with a lot of class
thanks guys, have to see over next few days if i can hold on to it. thanks for responding on the subject of the $300 and when it is ok to leave. most of you say quit when u want and a couple say don't hit and run =), i wish there was a code (or even a way the site cud prevent hit and running), but since there really isn't, maybe you lose out by not hit and running. however, higher up especially, a good reputation as not being a hit and runner i think is important, especially if u want to play against people who have strong beliefs about good etiquette (as i do). it also sucks when someone else hit and runs you if you're stuck a big number. i think its good to give 10/15mins out of courtesy, and in this time your opponent will probably start chasing his losses and this can only be a good thing for you in the long run. if you are behind then i believe you can leave at any point.
