PLAYING SOON
i've played about 7 sessions since the last post mostly at low levels without success. i did try to get to monte carlo and reached £2900 before blowing £2600 of it in very quick time and the other £300 the next day. i'm hoping to get back in the game again very soon at the £5/£10 and $10/$20 limits. i'll post more in my next update.

Hey Ed - Please let us know where you are getting your money. Did you sell the house? Thx and good luck!
Interesting blog Ed. We invite you to list it in our Blog Directory
Be one of the first to list your blog. Best of luck at the tables.
Ed.
Why don't you play the stock market?
There's way more money to be made.
You have a sickness that is restricting you of making real cash.
You used to be a hot shot playin high stakes.
Now your just a wannabe tryin to take your shot with scared money.
buy part of a business and have a steady income. Or at least buy stocks and make money while you sleep.
Stop playin cards. You will end up being a loser. NO ONE WANTS TO GO THROUGH LIFE FEELING LIKE A TOTAL LOSER.
be smart. MONEY IS POWER!
U ARE GIVING AWAY POWER WHEN U PLAY CARDS.
Actually, if you live your life based on what people suggest in blog comments, doesn't that make you a loser?
A Legend is reborn - Best of luck Ed. Good to see you back. Hope to see you on the betfair tables sometimes soon.
ZOMG!!!
GL Ed!!!
rambo, what do you think he should do? Be a day trader with a few £ks to play with? Get real - that's not possible as you'd get blinded out with fees and spreads. And besides, looking longer term, you'll have to be quite savvy to make money in stocks right now. If you can get a 20% return over the next year without ever risking too much, I'd be majorly impressed seeing as the obvious stuff like commodities have peaked, the obvious shorts have and will be heavily shorted already and everything else is just on a slow decline.
My phrase for this blog again.....
Where do these people come from?
EEEEEEEDDDDDD!!
Welcome back, hope all goes well at the micros for you (10/20!)

Keep us updated, Ed!
So you are alive then! Please write more my days are so boring
welcome back feesh, gl
Nice to hear from you Ed. Hope you managed to get away from poker during your month off. Good luck with your comeback, but please be careful with your debt - having a blast on the tables is great, but you don't want to end up owing ££s to all your family and friends - money isn't worth that upset.
Good luck!
I am so sick to death of all the holier than thou assholes who comment on your blog.
You don't need advice. You are doing fine on your own although in a slump right now. You've spun it out before, and I'm sure you'll do it again.
All these assholes giving you shit are pricks that worry about every penny they own. They are scared to gamble any money and shouldn't be playing poker in the first place. They'll never become a known player because they are afraid of money. The idea of losing thousands in a session to them in unfathomable.
With risk comes great reward. Look at the attention you are getting now. Countless magazines, poker sites, etc. want to pay you to tell your story and tribulations.
Any of these tightwads that are acting holier than thou, do you think they are being hounded for interviews...I think not!
You are the man. You are a young dude without a family or any major responsibilities right now. Now is the time to take your shot, which I believe you are doing. If you want to be a somebody in poker, now is the time, and you already are.
If you follow these idiots advice and stick to strict bankroll management while grinding it out, it will be years before you have a bankroll for the higher stakes that you are used too. That's assuming you do good grinding it out at lower limits.
All I can say is, now is the time to take your shot. You don't have a family to support. You don't have major bills to pay. You have proven that you can win at higher limits. Don't quit now while the possibility of becoming one of the poker greats is within your grasp. All these naysayers posting in your blog are nothing more than jealous idiots who fear their wives and are scared of rolling the dice to take a shot.
I'm cheering for you dude. I think you'll be the next great poker icon. Good luck to you :)
""You are the man. You are a young dude without a family or any major responsibilities right now.""
How the f can you make a statement like that.ffks get real man!Ask his parents what they think maybe!
lol i agree with dodds, ed doesnt have a family to support true but he clearly has a great family who have supported him amazingly well by the looks of things. Ed must have been borrowing the money from them cos he's a small town lad from wales...so maybe he should be a little more careful just to look after the family that have looked after him so well.
You are a ledge tho hollis, all my homies who dont even like poker love reading ur blog cos its such a good craic. Will look out for u at the crypto and betfair tarbs dude. Good luck, let us kno when u get rid of the house and have a cheeky roll again. ;)
Re: Patrick's comments:
As Patrick's comment was straight after my post I feel I might be one of the 'holier than thou assholes who comment on your blog'. All I wanted to say was that Ed should be careful about borrowing £££s from friends and family - if he loses it all he could lose them as well.
With regards to bank roll management etc I think Ed has shown the tedious pointlessness of low level grinding. If you're going to gamble you might as well do it properly in the way Ed is. That's why we all want to see his sick highs and lows.
Bye all means sell the house and spew it on the tables etc - I just said don't lose your family and friends for the sake of the ride.
The reason I say it is as a low level poker player I can see it would be easy to up the limits and lose family and friends chasing the poker buzz.
If he is prepared to do that then a far more sensible option is to take out lots of commercial loans and credit cards etc and just go bankrupt if it all goes wrong!
As to those getting angry about all these views - chill out and enjoy watching Ed's ride. ;-)
Yea Baby!!
good to see you back and blogging again ED.
looking forward to more updates.

zc: no, my comment wasn't directed at you...mostly I believe it was at the Ed's previous post that had over 100 replies of mostly negativity.
I'll be honest, I was very drunk when I posted my last message, lol! I barely remember doing it, and when I read it the next day I thought, 'wow...where's all my anger coming from?!'
I do mean a lot of what I posted anyhow, although in a sober state of mind it most likely would have come out much differently :P
The last post from Ed really bothered me with how many people jumped on him while he was down.
zc: I also agree with you about drawing the line at losing friends and family over this. That's going too far. Regardless of what others say here though, Ed's age and lack of a wife/kids gives him the perfect (and probably once in a lifetime) opportunity to take his shot.
If the worst happens, he loses his house and all the funds from it, and hits rock bottom financially...then he can say (and probably should) 'I took my chance, didn't make it, and now it's time to grow up and go to work like the average dude'.
I realize everybody will have different opinions and view points on this, and no one is correct, mine included. I just would regret it the rest of my life if I didn't take the chance while I could, and I think Ed is at that place right now.
One last point...Ed is way ahead of the curve right now. How many guys his age do you know that own their own home? A smart person may quit playing poker and carry on with life at this point, way ahead of the game, while another smart person may roll the dice and take a final stab at poker and the chance of becoming one of the greats. Worst case scenario, Ed loses the house, all his money, maybe incurs some debt, but still is probably smack dab in the middle of all his peers when it comes to the 'game of life'. My main point is at his age, this is the time to do it. If you're doing this when you're 30+ yrs old, with a family, then you're nothing but a degenerate!
I'm not drunk tonight, so I have no excuse for my long winded blathering post. I'm just here like the rest of you watching Ed and his rollercoaster ride, but I'm cheering him on, sometimes envious, and certainly enjoying the trip.
Peace :)
to Rambo
You clearly know jack about the financial markets - i'm a broker on the LME floor in london, so i'm saying this with conviction - unless you really know what you're doing you're 100% going to go broke at the moment. I'm watching top traders make massive losses this year. So Ed probably won't make his mint. lol
Good to see you back again, looking forward to the next part of this rollercoaster ride! Good luck :)
Start practicing good bankroll management and you'll probably be fine. I think you have the potential to become a good poker player but you must look from within, your inner self.
Discipline is one of the most important skills in poker.
good luck on the tables and take good care of yourself ^_^
