Keep your heads up buddy.
Yeah, but how much did you lose?
easy solution.....play lower!! When will u learn ed that ur just not good enough, nor have the bankroll to play at that level yet! Your blog is so repetitive and predictable its getting stupid. You could easily make 100k a yr at 5/10nl but you choose not to to play that level why? cos ur ego is too big for that? cos u have won higher levels in the past? Whatever the reason ed, sort it out mate. Your much better than what is being showed and the funny thing about it is that you and every1 who reads this blog knows the problem....so sort it.
man give it up. your gonna be kiling yourself pretty soon. and before that when your money runs out your gonna be letting people screw you for money just so you can play online poker....
u need to join gamblers annonymous.youve had some fun, find somone who loves you and get there help

You'd get better odds on Steven Hawking winning Olympic 100 metres than Ed taking you up on that platonic

That's just what I was thinking. Do the people who say this easily make 100k+ a year at 5/10 themselves? I doubt it somehow.
I think Ed is doing us all a great service. I've known a lot of gambling junkies in my casino days, and none of them would have had the courage to lay out their pathology for the world to see. Most gamblers lie about their losses, or simply don't talk about the subject. Not Ed, he's giving us the the good, the bad and the ugly. Kudos to him. In the end this character trait (honesty) might be what saves him and gets him on a healthier path through life.
Ed's blog is a stark antithesis to the poker boom propaganda and dubious messages sent out by all those flashy FullTilt TV ads. In the big picture of online gaming, Ed's story is much more accurate than any TV ad featuring Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, et al (who, by the way, make most of their earnings via commercial endorsements, sponsorships and shares in online poker sites).
I wonder how much this blog, with it half million hit count and mention in poker magazines, is playing into Ed's decision making process. Take away the notoriety, and what is Ed left with? A gambling habit he can't control. He'd be like the millions of other online losers who have quietly ruined their lives.
Frankly, I see a great opportunity in all of this for Ed. He has a captive audience on a personal blog that most other bloggers can only dream about. With a bit of business savvy, this site could be generating an annual income that is not only consistent in its growth, but much less prone to the the boom-bust variance of the pro poker player.
i think it's time to move up in stakes. 25/50 is only meta meta. Your thought process is meta meta meta, which is 200/400 nl. Ed you know the drill - sell your house, sperm and first born, and start playing nosebleeds!!!
Continuing to chase at the highest levels just aint working.
Take a break from poker. Invest what you got left and have some fun.
Go to Ibiza / Corfu / Crete
Spend the summer getting pissed
working in some tacky bar

He's up half a house, how is he in any way like the millions of other online losers. He's totally different, that's why I read his blog.
I'm sure there are millions of poker losers, most people have to lose at poker by definition. But the average small stakes donks who work full time and blow $100 after a few beers every now and then have not "quietly ruined their lives". It’s just harmless entertainment.
Don't tar everyone who plays poker with the "compulsive gambler" brush.
The thing that makes this blog so interesting is that along with all the "just dropped another 5,000" posts, every once in a great while, a post comes along where he wins 20k or goes on a heater to 100k, etc...thats the drama.
Sadly, it does seem as if those "heater" days may be in the past...
racingferret - "He's up half a house"
from the sound of his previous posts, he has been refinancing and releasing equity for a while now. it's probably more like a quarter of a house, with a mortgage and bills he struggles to pay from month to month, and a housing market on the downside.
Anyone wanna bet me on my latest challenge?
LOL @ me using Ed's blog to get you to check mine :-)
Alright Ed btw, not chatted to you for time. Hope you're doin ok although it seems like you are struggling abit from reading this shit blog recently. gl anyways mate.
RacingFerret,
Don't put words into my post. I am not "tarring all poker players" with the same compulsive gambler brush. I am tarring Ed and the millions like him with that brush. Online poker has become a multi-billion dollar global industry, and Ed is not alone is his personal road to ruin.
Moreover, how do you know he's up half a house, much less anything? Are you his accountant? I don't claim to know what he's up or down. I simply read a blog by a guy whose better poker days are long behind him and his addiction is now out of control. He is in downward spiral mode.
People like you need Ed to succeed because he likely represents your own troubles with gambling. At this point, Ed isn't even really a person anymore, but a symbol, representing the dubious nature of online poker.

Ed currently sitting on $15K on crypto $25/$50....
Yeah he's on a real heater tonight...did see him lose a 10k pot earlier when he got it all in Pre flop with K2 vs Aces but he's well up
He's bumming pard01 like a cheap rent boy. 5k Buy in after buy in
Ed I watched you playing with gulkines today and you were a cherry waiting to be picked.
Fold,fold ,fold.....
Way too aggressive and way too predictable...
Ed I think your style is much more suited to tournament play;try the 20k on WH....I think you'd do well.
Give up the cash games....
